Respect Scanner was created in 2023 with the simple aim of encouraging businesses and organisations to be more respectful to to, well, everyone really - but with a particular focus on the LGBTIQz + community.
We looked for a way to judge organisations and finally decided that the use of honorifics in forms was the canary in the coalmine. If an organsation can't, or wont, get such a simple thing correct, they are unlikely to do well in any other way.
In looking at organiations we found some also ask questions about gender - so we've included them in our ratings where it is relevant.
